Christina Ricci Does Speed Racer
She's going to be Trixie, haha.
Anyway.. I'm taking a break at the moment. Since I fell asleep at 530P I'm sort of wide awake right now. Taking advantage of my OCD moment to clean some more. Everything smells like clean. I've used up bottles of sprays, foams & wipes. Haha I've probably dropped several IQ points from inhaling those fumes, but heck you can EAT off the floor now.
Consumerism = Minimalism ??
My newest obsession? Jewelry. I've finally moved on from dresses (though that hardly means I've stopped buying them).
The first reminds me of this jade necklace I used to have (I wonder what happened to it?) except mine was a lighter color & well.. real jade. I'm pretty sure that's not. The second had the following description: Because the left coast is the best coast. I'm paraphrasing, but it was something to that extent. I like the third one because it's really simple. A lot of times I can't wear necklaces with my outfits because my tops are busy & the necklaces I have kind of clash. I don't really want the fourth one, but I like shells (shells = beach!). The last one is kind of interesting but I don't know how long it is (I prefer longer chains).
Of course I'm always into bags & such. I've never really been a clutch girl because I tend to carry my entire life in my purse. Obviously my entire life is much bigger than those itty bitty clutches. But it does offer me the option of minimalizing things. & I did make a note of trying to streamline my life a little more. (Okay so maybe starting off with your purse isn't the most conventional way, but that's a pretty damn big step for me!)
Ive purchased these two lovelies to aid my efforts. I do realize how awkward it is to be talking about MINIMALISM when I am constantly buying up & lusting over more things that will just clutter up my closet. But let me tell you this, my closet happens to be the ONE consistently clean room in the apartment.
Okay I'm done with my break. Off to clean my bedroom!
So.. what's the nicest way to tell your boyfriend that you need to not see his face for a week (maybe two)?
Yeah I'm starting to feel antsy / tired / annoyed / frustrated / unappreciated. Scratch that. I'm not starting to. I already am. This is too complicated. This is my apartment, my dog, my sleeping schedule, my dishes (if you break another one I'll have your head), my life. Quit trying to alter me to fit you. It's not going to work, it's just going to piss me off.

MANICOTTI
Burnt Caramel Ice Cream with Hawaiian Black Lava Salt
FRIES
Oh god I could go for these right now. I realize I've got TWO ways of dealing with my stress / anxiety / bad vibes: FOOD & SHOPPING. They've got many things in common: immediate satisfaction, manages to distract me, later proves to be negative (in the form of weight gain & a lighter wallet), I always succumb because it makes me feel good for a little while.
FROZEN MANGO YOGURT
YUMMY! I love mango anything... so good. It's my favorite fruit. I even enjoy eating the pit (well.. around it because you can't actually it the pit), which I've found seems to disgust most people. *shrug*
Dang looking at food is making my stomach growl. Loudly. I'm really going to need to go running again. *sigh* I wonder if there's anything to eat. Or if my cooking will be too loud. *annoyed & not really caring* But I'm too comfy right now to move. So maybe later.
Random But Enjoyable
THIS is genius. It's a mirror that has compliments written all over the surface. I want one of these too. Heh.
A scholarly look from Sara Berman, tailored from tartan silk in shades of blue, green, and white.
• Flutter sleeves
• Wraparound self-tie
• Silk; acetate lining
• Dry clean

This is actually really cute & not as dorky as it looks on the mannequin. It's amazing on the model, but of course it's supposed to be in order to grab the attention of suckers like me.
A champagne toast to slinky silk jersey with caviar stripes. Wide sashes tie along the mid-back. By Maple.

This reminds me of the Chlorophyll dress on Anthro.

I love that raspberry color & the collar. This is just a gorgeous piece that I WANT. It's not on sale at the moment, so I don't know if I should wait to get it (I'm always paranoid it'll be gone or not in my size).
Shrunken crochet resembles the silken marvels found near doors and windowpanes. By Guinevere.
• Button placket

In "champagne." I need a really light, simple cardigan or sweater.
Tall sprays of yellow and orange gladioli grow beneath the pintucked empire bodice of this billowing cotton cambric dress.
• Lightly boned bodice
• Attached black sash
• Side zip
• Cotton; cotton lining
• Machine wash
• 31.25"L
I already have too many dresses in this style. But I can't help it. I especially like how the skirt hangs. I'm not a big fan of velvet though (at least to wear).
Casual enough for a walk through the park, yet dressy enough for cocktails in the city, this short tent dress by Only Hearts goes the distance.
• Rayon, lycra
• Hand wash
• 33"L
I know, I know this looks like a little girl dress, but it's so easy to dress it up.
A cooling breeze of white cotton decked out with eyelet and tonal stripes. By Lil.
• Cotton; cotton lining
• Machine wash
• 36.5"L
The details on this is what I love. It seems really simple at first, but when you look closely it's very pretty.
Pleated pintucked voile, the color of ripe figs. Tiebacks cinch the button-up bodice.
• Side zip
• Cotton; cotton lining
• Machine wash
• Regular: 39.75"L
• Petite: 36.5"L
Another little girl dress. What can I say, I'm a kid at heart.
The secret to a great shindig is in the details - floaty double-layer cotton, clever pintucks and a variegated all-over print.
• Back zip
• Cotton; cotton lining
• Machine wash
• 34"L
Such a pretty, fun looking dress aptly called "confetti."
Bold blue, red and cream wings hover over navy chiffon. A lightly boned cummerbund bodice beautifully contrasts a swishy tulle-lined skirt. By Anna Sui.
• Back zip
• Silk; nylon/acetate lining
• Dry clean
• 36"L
Anna Sui! It took me a while to realize I liked this dress, but not that much.

SPEED RACER = I'M (almostkindof) EXCITED! I remember that damned show. The voice acting was terrible and the animation was complete garbage. But I suppose that is generally what nostalgia encompasses - bad acting and garbage. Right? "So.. what's the nicest way to tell your boyfriend that you need to not see his face for a week (maybe two)?" Answer: Tell him you're hanging out with your clone. Bahaha. I winnn. All of your foods (except for the manicotti) look so f***ing good right now. I'm at that "its 1:20am and I'm bored & hungry" stage of the night. Or morning. Mmm. Ice cream & french fries.
